Weddings:

Large or small, The Outerbanks has hosted many weddings and reunions.  We have enough cabins and chalets to accommodate any size group of family gathering.   Larger functions make use of the Wapiti Valley Ski Chalet to host weddings, dances, or reunion suppers.  You can contact Eileen at the Wapiti Valley Ski Resort (office manager - 306 862 5621 or 306 862 3244  on Mondays or leave a message) for current info on their chalet price and availability.

The Outerbanks has hosted many "country style" weddings over the years.  In most cases, the bride and groom, wedding party, and close family book the Hilltop Chalets and other guests book the Riverside Cabins.  Additional guests can also stay at hotels/motels in Melfort (30 minute drive).  Family camping is also very close and convenient across the bridge on the Saskatchewan River (½ mile north of Wapiti Ski Resort).  Typically the church service is held in Melfort. If you prefer a Justice of the Peace, John Wade from Melfort (306 752-3487, 306 921-9810 cel) will travel directly to The Outerbanks to perform the service at one of The Outerbanks chalets or cabins.

Wedding pictures can be taken with the beautiful hilltop view overlooking the valley or along the majestic Saskatchewan River.  The wedding reception and dance can be held at the Wapiti Valley Ski Resort Chalet which is located 2 miles from the Riverside cabins and 3 miles from the Hilltop chalets. The Chalet at the Ski resort is large enough to host your wedding with a full kitchen, bar, and large dining area.   Please coordinate your bookings and inquiries directly with Eileen at the Wapiti Valley Ski Resort Wapiti Valley Ski Resort (office manager - 306 862 5621 or 306 862 3244  on Mondays or leave a message).  Wapiti Valley Ski Resort is seasonal so they may or may not have staff available at time of your wedding.  Coordination of times to get into the hall to decorate, prepare food, and clean up all need be coordinated specifically with Wapiti Ski Resort manager.  Gift opening usually happens at the Wapiti Valley Ski Resort but if you are looking at a day function such as gift opening at one of the Outerbanks Cabins or Hilltop Chalets, there is an additional $10/person fee.

Smaller weddings have been held directly The Outerbanks,  but our chalets and cabins are not really set up to hold more than 20 people.  If you are inquiring about ideas for a wedding at The Outerbanks, feel free to run any ideas past Natalie at The Outerbanks.
